Jenny and Sam share with Clear River

On August 20th, Jenny Ling and Sam McDaniel shared their mission experiences to Clear River. Click here to listen to the Podcast.

Jenny went to Peru for twelve days through Teen Mania Ministries, which consisted of 127 teenagers that were divided into five teams. Jenny shared an amazing testimony of how the people of Peru blessed her and her teammates. "These people went above and beyond, and they sacrificed themselves and what they had," Jenny said. "And they just blessed me. And I just came away wanting to serve people." When asked if she would do it again, Jenny responded with a great deal of enthusiasm. "Oh my gosh, yes! If someone was like, 'Hey do you want to go to Peru' and gave me a ticket, I would go!"

Sam also shared her enthusiasm with the church on her outreach to the Amazon (pictured above. See more of Sam's pictures.) and Fortaleza, Brazil with YWAM Denver. "These past five months have been totally impactful," Sam said regarding her Discipleship Training School experience, "and I don't regret it one bit. God has totally changed me. He has given me a passion for His word. He has given me a passion for His people, and to just go out there and not be ashamed of who I am in Christ." Sam is now responsible of the Clear River Missions website, which has become a key tool for missions advocacy and awareness in Clear River.

Kristen Daknis and Sarah Frances also went on short-term missions trips this summer.

Sam headed home

Samantha McDaniel is getting ready to return home this month. Mark Davies, Sam's team leader from Youth With a Mission wrote:

Oi Amigos,

I can’t believe a week has already passed since I last wrote...time has flown!

We have been staying at the Restoration Farm and continuing our work
here. But, being that this was our last official week of ministry, we are happy that it was also packed with lots of additional opportunities.

Photobucket - Video and Image HostingHere at the farm, we continue to be amazed at how God is at work.

While in Fortaleza we have seen numerous kids who spend their
days....and nights...living on the streets; searching for their next
meal and often sustaining themselves only by the fumes of paint thinner or glue.

But, here at the farm, those same boys who once
lived like that have a completely new life and great hope for their
future! We have really connected with them and will be sad to leave
them soon.

Aside from the farm we have also worked with a local kid’s ministry
called the Manna Project. This ministry’s goal is to enrich the lives
of children living in rural communities outside Fortaleza.

Wednesday, we had a really random opportunity. We were invited to the post office...of all places...to participate in a community action program. As this city has SO many social problems, it was awesome to bring the solution of a loving, healing, and restoring God to the minds of the city’s influential people. Later we found out that the post office is one of the most influential institutions in all of Brazil, so the fact that WE were invited was really quite significant.

We followed this event with an all-night prayer and worship time for
Fortaleza and the ministry YWAM is doing here.

Friday and Saturday we spent in the city center. We visited 2 youth
prisons, held a huge assembly at a a juvenile center, worked in the
local slums(favales) and did a street program in the heart of
Fortaleza. We have truly been blessed to do all that we have. The
Lord sent us here to serve and love this city and He has been faithful to set up many opportunities for us to do so.

Thank you SO much for your prayers! Please stick with us to the end!

We head to our debrief location on Tuesday and back to the states on
Friday. We look forward to seeing you soon.

Lots of love! `Chow,` The Brazil Team
